Yakkay Brainwear is a helmet designed to fit with four styles of helmet covers, meant to make them look less like a bicycle helmet, and more like a regular hat.

The helmet it self is fairly low-profile, and looks much more like a skateboard helmet than a standard cycling helmet. The cover styles seemed geared toward the casual or urban cyclist. There seems to be little airflow, so the helmet is definitely not going to be the best choice for riding fast enough to really heat up.

While the style may not be for everyone, I commend the effort. If Brainwear will convince those for whom vanity is an issue to wear helmets, then the effort is a success, whether or not I’d wear one myself.
